What is a SLAPP?

Journalists are increasingly facing strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPPs), legal actions brought by the rich and powerful that are intended to silence them. So I was pleased to work on a campaign video with illustrator Kerry Hyndman for Index on Censorship to help explain why SLAPPs are so pernicious and what can be done about them.
